Sea Gull Century 2005 - Honored Team Mate
I will be completing this century ride in honor of Andy Yost. Andy was diagnosed with Mylelodysplastic Syndrome, a type of pre-leukemia also known as Smouldering Leukemia. He arrived at Duke University on May 5, 2003 to undergo a stem cell transplant. He received extensive testing through May and remained under critical care at Duke University after his transplant last summer. After several months of being away from friends and family in Baltimore, Andy came home at the end of November 2003. Andy is an incredible young man; he’s been so strong and optimistic throughout his illness. Despite the dangers he faced and the challenges that are still ahead, he remains brave and accepting.
